International Conferences
Each academic year, the Centre for the Study of European Politics and Society, in association with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Israel, works on the formation of various academic conferences that deals with a specific topic and brings together the best of researchers and stake holders of their field. The conferences takes place either in the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev or in a different location provided with the service of transportation. These conferences are aimed at enriching our students, the rest of BGU students, and the rest of our audience, with knowledge of different aspects of the study of Europe provided from different points of views by the experts in their fields.

The Politics of Comics Conference in cooperation with the Holon Cartoon Museum, January 11 2018
On January 11, 2018, CSEPS and the Holon Cartoon Museum organised a conference to discuss the nexus between the world of comics and politics. The conference opened with the celebratory talk of Prof. Dani Filc marking the publication of his recent book “the Politics of Comics: from Superman to Tintin”, which deals with the connections between politics and comics throughout history and in different parts of the world. Presentations highlighted the connection between the private and public in the politics of comics.

International Conference Honouring the Academic Work of Prof. Renée Poznanski, June 13 2017
On June 13, 2017, the Centre for the Study of European Politics and Society, hosted a conference honouring the academic work of Prof. Renee Poznanki and marking her retirement. The conference was organised in cooperation with the French Embassy in Israel, the Swedish Embassy in Israel, the French Cultural Institute, Ben-Gurion University management, the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities and the Department of Politics and Government.
The conference covered two main themes: “The Politics and History of 20th Century France” and “Israeli and European Perspective on Crime Thrillers”. We were thrilled to host renowned international scholars- Prof. Robert Paxton (Queen Mary University in London), Prof. Julian Jackson (Columbia University) and Prof. Annette Becker (Paris Nanterre University). The topics covered during the conference were diverse and thought-provoking. Following the lectures, a ceremony was held to mark Prof. Poznanski’s retirement. Friends, colleagues and former students took part in this truly unforgettable event.
Bologna Around the World: a comparative point of view

On Wednesday, April 26th, the BGU's Bologna Training Center held the conference in cooperation with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Israel. This year the conference focused on the Bologna process as a global phenomenon and analysed it in a comparative perspective. The conference hosted the "NearEU" Jean-Monnet network (More information: http://www.neareu.eu/), together with academics and policy makers from across Israel and Europen, including Ms Barbara Michalk from German Rectors' Conference.
Marking Twenty Years of Israel-EU Scientific Cooperation, Nov 28 2016
CSEPS in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung organised the conference to mark the twenty years of collaboration between Israel and the European Union in science. The conference shed light on the last two decades of the ongoing successful cooperation between Israel and the EU in the field of scientific and technological cooperation. Participants and attendees of the conference also discussed how Israel and Germany can benefit from the exchange of knowledge, research, and technological innovations. Since 1996, Israel has been the only non-European country within the EU-funded Framework Program for Research. Israel has also signed the Horizon 2020 Framework Program for Research and Innovation. Thereby, Israel and the EU are able to deepen and extend their special relationship in the field of science and academic research exchange even more.
