The Simone Veil Research Centre for Contemporary European Studies

Within the framework of classrooms meeting, students in grade 1 through 4 learn about European countries through stories, legends, and European food. Throughout the meeting, the students experience a colorful and fun European 'voyage', are exposed to the unique characteristics of its various countries, gain familiarity with with the countries' flags and are provided with an understanding of the European Union's contribution to peace and prosperity on the European continent. Students in the older classes, grades 5-6, are exposed to geographic and historical traits of the continent, through concepts like borders, democracy and nationalism.
