Be'er Sheva city is located at the Negev, which is the southern desert area of the country. That gives the city the characteristics of a typical desert city, being very hot and arid in the summer (as high as +35C in July-August). Nevertheless, the Mediterranean climate characteristics are also significant in the area, making Be'er Sheva cold and usually rainy in the winter (as low as 8C in December-January) though snow is rare.
